My father left behind letters, stories, and belongings that each show his personal characteristics in different ways. Engaging with these artifacts in a variety of graphic forms, my thesis project creates a series of visual conversations with my father. A portrait of my father, and of our relationship, emerges from these conversations. Although I knew my father well, I find that I am getting to know him all over again. There’s much to learn and to relearn. Do I want to show others what kind of person he was, or do I want to remind myself of it?
