Grief is a deeply personal process. Ambient Grief explores one key stage of this process that illuminates my path out of grief and toward acceptance. This poem is a part of a series that expresses my mother’s own journey through grief after losing her husband.
Ambient Grief is part of a series that visualizes varied emotional responses I experienced while losing my father as landmarks for the stages of grief. Each piece represents a distinct experience from my journey, symbolized through manipulated paper. These paperworks communicate texture, fragility, movement, and emotional states, merging my mother’s words within my personal experiences.
