Languages are meant to ground us, to offer belonging. Yet, as languages rapidly evolve, their very function as cultural anchors begins to shift. My thesis investigates a deeply personal and universal question: Can one still find home in a language that refuses to stay still? Through Tanglish—a hybrid of Tamil and English—I explore how linguistic hybridity reshapes identity, belonging, and memory, questioning whether a hybrid tongue can still hold the weight of home.
